Rubbish Photos but what a day!

Pressure's really on at the moment. Only six months left to have the book completed and I'm spending half my time collecting food for the numerous species I'm rearing in the studio.

A couple of days ago I managed to collect some first instar water boatman nymphs and after having transferred them to a tank, I needed to find them some aquatic larvae to eat. Laden with buckets and scoops I went down to the little pond near the house, to collect mud and water which would hopefully contain plenty of tasty morsels. Typical, the one time I don't have my camera, the first thing to greet me was a Southern Smooth Snake, swimming in the pool, looking for food. I dragged my phone from my pocket and grabbed a rubbish shot as it took off into the undergrowth. Hopefully it actually lives there... I shall return.
