Some in, some out...

Some in, some out...

How can it possibly be July already? There just never seem to be enough hours in the day.
The best news is that after a month and a half of hand feeding the gummed-up lizard, it moulted successfully and is now living happily in the herb garden.

The other significant news is a follow on from the book. Whilst rearing Extatosoma tiaratum for Metamorphosis, I collected a hundred or so eggs, all from the unmated females I had in one tank. Being unmated, it is a 50-50 chance that they will be fertile and I just kept them, partly out of curiosity and partly because I didn't have the heart to destroy them.
Well the last couple of weeks have given forth about thirty hatchlings and it's a good job I have some vacant tanks. They'll be fine together while they are small but in a couple of months I'll have to rehouse them into two or three tanks to avoid overcrowding, they do get rather large after all.
